Keyword Highlighter browser extension operates in a fully local context with no external communication.

It does not transmit data to remote servers, collect telemetry, or interface with online user accounts.

All operational data — including the URLs of highlighted pages, the textual content of highlights, and their corresponding DOM positions—are persistently stored on the user’s local device using Chrome’s storage.sync or storage.local APIs.

No external data access or synchronization occurs.

Users can enable/disable the extension globally and on the sites of their choice.

The extension asks its users for permissions if it accesses the content of a website.
